The Sandals Foundation launches a fundraising campaign to aid storm-ravaged Dominica
The campaign will include fundraising efforts involving guests staying at Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts, as well as online donations through the Sandals Foundation webpage. However, the pledge to help does not stop there. The Foundation will also be reaching out to all of their trade partners, travel agents and suppliers as well as past donors and team members on the ground across the Caribbean region.
Adam Stewart, CEO of Sandals Resorts International and President of the Sandals Foundation explains that “Thankfully, the nine islands in which our resorts operate were unscathed by Tropical Storm Erika but tragically the same was not true of our Caribbean neighbors in Dominica who have suffered great loss; both of life and infrastructure.” “We know firsthand how badly natural disasters can affect a nation and we will be doing all we can to help the people of Dominica to recover as quickly as possible, and we urge our corporate partners to play their part too. This is an emergency situation and we want to throw our full weight behind our Caribbean brothers and sisters in their time of need.”
Some of you may not know, but this is not Sandals Foundation’s first foray into a disaster affected nation. In fact, the foundation also helped to support efforts on the ground after the devastating earthquake in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 2010.
For those of you who would like to help the relief efforts in Dominica, join us in making a donation by visiting the Sandals Foundation website.
