Beaches Negril Recognized as a Good Housekeeping 2024 Family Travel Awards Winner
Beaches® Resorts, the family-friendly brand of the Caribbean’s leading all-inclusive resort company Sandals Resorts International, proudly announces that its flagship property Beaches Negril has been honored as a recipient in Good Housekeeping's 2024 Family Travel Awards. With this recognition, Beaches Negril joins its sister property Beaches Turks & Caicos which was named a Good Housekeeping Family Travel Award winner in 2023.
The award comes on the heels of a highly anticipated expansion this past spring that added 12 spacious butler suites, among them, the beautifully appointed Firesky Reserve Villas — offering four bedrooms that host up to 10 guests, along with a full kitchen, rooftop deck for stargazing, and private plunge pool — all mere steps from Negril’s coveted Seven Mile Beach. Suites within the Eventide Penthouse Collection offer three to four bedrooms and sleep up to 18 — a respite for multigenerational getaways.
Complementing the new room options, Beaches Negril introduced a completely reimagined children's center in collaboration with Sesame Workshop, enhancing the family experience with an indoor play center. Welcoming families of all types, the resort – and all sister Beaches locations – offers first-of-its-kind programming designed for children, including the Caribbean's inaugural autism-friendly kids camps and a resort sensory guide to identify low-sensory areas. Guests can also participate in charitable activities organized by the Sandals Foundation, such as the Reading Road Trip, supporting literacy in local schools, and programs focused on marine protection, food security, and coral conservation. Guests staying at Beaches Negril will enjoy 10 gourmet restaurants – with Peruvian concept, Yaku, as the most recent addition – the Pirates Island Waterpark, and much more.
“Making time for the most important people in your life is what family vacations are all about and we take that very seriously at Beaches Resorts. As a family-owned and operated company, receiving this recognition from Good Housekeeping, a name families have trusted for generations, is an incredible honor,” said Lancelot Lebert, General Manager of Beaches Negril. "From our expansive new accommodations and inclusive programming that make it easy for all members of the family to gather and have fun at our resorts, to opportunities for families to join ours in giving back through our philanthropic Sandals Foundation, we are committed to celebrating every opportunity for families to connect in an unforgettable setting.”
In its second iteration, the Good Housekeeping Family Travel Awards underwent meticulous curation by experts, analysts, and enthusiasts aiming to pinpoint the best products, services, and destinations for diverse preferences. The Good Housekeeping Institute spent eight months reviewing numerous submissions to identify optimal travel options for all family types. Judges, including travel agents, editors, engineers, analysts, and scientists, selected winners based on standout choices for various preferences and budgets. Over 100 travel testers, recruited for firsthand feedback, evaluated aspects like family-friendliness, service, amenities, activities, inclusivity, sustainability, and more, by experiencing destinations, attractions, and travel services.
